A new version of Resident Evil 4 is being developed, as reported by the video game chronicle based on unconfirmed information from various experts. The project is in full production at M-Two as an associate studio for Capcom. The studio, founded by Tatsuya Minami (former boss of PlatinumGames), has apparently been preparing for the remake since 2018. M-Two was involved in the remake of Resident Evil 3. Capcom’s internal resources are also used. VGC reports that the new version is being rolled out with the tacit blessing of original game director Shinji Mikami, who apparently refused to direct the project but “gave informal advice.” Yep. The perspective has changed so far, because with the change of the protagonist’s point of view, the environment and the behavior of the opponents would also have to adapt.
The remake of Resident Evil 4 is slated to launch in 2022. Other rumors say Resident Evil 8 will be released next year (we reported). Capcom has not commented on the rumors.
Resident Evil 4 was first released in 2005 for GameCube and PlayStation 2. This was followed by various remasters and relaunches on various platforms; last year the Change implementation. The game is considered the best part of the series and received a proud 93 percent in our test.
