Six festival visitors were taken to the surrounding hospitals.

Twelve young women and men were injured in an accident during a festival in Pütnitz near Ribnitz-Damgarten (Vorpommern-Rügen district). Six of them had to be transferred to hospitals. On Friday night, visitors to the “Love Culture” festival sat in a trailer that was pulled by an old VW bus. Based on initial findings, the combination drove too fast through a curve, causing the trailer to overturn. The 27-year-old driver suffered a scare.

Investigations against the driver

The injured were treated by the crews of six ambulances and a rescue helicopter at the scene. The seriously injured victims were transferred to clinics in Rostock, Stralsund, Greifswald and Ribnitz-Damgarten. The accident occurred at the festival site and therefore not on public roads. According to the police, an investigation has been launched against the driver on suspicion of negligent bodily injury. According to the organizers, the festival on the banks of the Bodden is sold out. About 1,000 visitors came to listen to music, dance, meditate and participate in workshops.
