An angry Vladimir Putin counterattacks Alexei Navalny and takes revenge on the opponents of the intelligent opposition that remained in Russia.
▶ ︎ Review: Alexei Navalny (44) had pretended to be a high-ranking officer of the Russian National Intelligence Service (FSB) earlier this week and FSB agent Konstantin Kudryavtsev obtained details of the assassination attempt on him by phone. Soon after, an opposition supporter, Lyubov Sobol, drove to the agent’s apartment and rang the bell. Instead of opening the door, however, he called the police, who arrested Sobol.
Officially, the Kremlin has called the FSB agent’s phone call to confess with Alexei Navalny, who lives in exile in Germany, a “forgery” and a “planned provocation”. But behind the Kremlin walls, the regime appears to be in a panic.
At 7 am, special forces broke into Sobol’s Moscow apartment, dragged the 33-year-old out of bed and abducted her. For hours, friends and even his family did not know where he was. Then the certainty: Putin’s authorities are holding them prisoner.
The indictment: Apparently, she is charged with ringing the bell on the FSB agent for “trespassing or threatening to use her.”
Sobol recorded his arrest on video. Police had previously recorded a surveillance camera on the stairway for use.

The Kremlin has now brought charges against three of Navalny’s friends in connection with the 44-year-old FSB’s phone call and the investigation into the circumstances surrounding his Novichok poisoning in August this year.
While Putin cannot seize Nawalnys while he and his family are in Germany, the regime is taking revenge on his supporters.
