One person was killed in a collision between two motorcycles on Saturday afternoon. According to the police, the accident occurred on the S201 between Mittweida and Rossau. Apparently a motorcycle wanted to turn left onto a dirt road as the driver of the second machine passed a car and eventually caught the motorcycle turning off. The 20-year-old driver of the overtaking machine was reportedly seriously injured. The 56-year-old motorcyclist, who wanted to turn, died at the scene of the accident.
Investigations into the course of the accident continue. Other witnesses who saw the accident and who can provide information on the course of the accident are asked to contact the traffic accident service in Chemnitz at 0371/874 00. The accident occurred around 2:15 p.m. on S201 (Dresdner Straße) about 200 meters after the S202 (Mittweidaer Straße) junction.
In addition to the police, two rescue helicopters, three emergency doctors and the Döbeln technical aid organization were on duty, which illuminated the scene of the accident. The state highway was completely closed for the registration of accidents and rescue work until night.
