The Four Hills tournament got off to a rocky start. First the Polish team was excluded, now it can jump. The organizers announced this Tuesday morning.

A positive corona test with ski jumper Klemens Muranka on Monday actually led to the exclusion of the Poles from qualifying and from the inaugural competition in Oberstdorf scheduled for Tuesday.

On Monday night, Muranka and his teammates had received completely negative results and the FIS World Federation had announced that the team could start with another negative test result.

“We are very happy with this news, which is also good news for the sport. Because the best must always win,” Sandro Pertile, Race Director of the FIS World Ski Federation, said later.

After all, with the decision to let the Poles start, the mode of competition will change on Tuesday. Instead of the elimination duels of the best 50 jump shots in the first round, a first round will now take place with the 62 athletes at 4.30 pm (on the live ticker on t-online). Direct delete mode is not applicable. Two hours before the competition, a training round for the Poles was included in the program;
