There are more and more events in Germany against regulations to contain the pandemic. And violent assaults often occur. The target is the media, as recently in Berlin. Or the police, like now in Saxony.

Dozens of people had once again gathered there in Pirna for an illegal demonstration against the restrictions. Before the meeting, a “walk” was called on the Internet, police said. Around 200 people gathered at the Pirna market on Wednesday night.

Police attempted to stop the assembly with around 190 officers. According to information, 30 “violent people” attacked the emergency services and one official was injured. Eight criminal proceedings have been initiated, including breaches of the peace and assault on law enforcement officers. The meeting broke up about an hour after the start.

The first date was uneventful.

A week ago, around 250 people gathered at the same location to demonstrate against restrictions to contain the crown pandemic. The meeting, which lasted 15 minutes, was peaceful. Since April 22, there have been repeated demonstrations that have not been registered. The protesters had also insulted and harassed the police officers.

In several German cities, thousands of people demonstrated over the weekend against restrictions to contain the crown pandemic. One of the focal points was Stuttgart. There were also protests in Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt.

Attacks against ARD and ZDF teams

Media representatives were also recently attacked at such events. A protester attacked an ARD camera team at a demonstration in front of the Reichstag building in Berlin about a week ago. As reported by the “ARD Capital Studio”, a man spontaneously separated from the crowd and kicked the sound assistant.

On May 1, a team from the ZDF satellite broadcast “heute-show” was attacked in Berlin. He also turned into a demonstration against restrictions on the crown crisis at Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz. Subsequently, the camera team was attacked by a group of hooded criminals. According to the ZDF, six people were injured and had to be taken to the hospital.
