FFP2 masks there, but no health insurance vouchers
As of January 1, people over 60 years of age and people with chronic diseases must receive from the health insurance company vouchers for two six masks each with a contribution of 2 euros each. As of mid-January, many beneficiaries have not received a single voucher. According to the Association of German Pharmacists (DAV), sending vouchers for FFP2 masks in particular is slow. Because FFP2 masks are available in sufficient quantities at pharmacies.
Customers ask in pharmacies: “Where are the coupons?”
“Pharmacy customers ask, ‘Where are the vouchers?'” Said the association’s deputy spokesperson, Ursula Sellerberg. Customers kept asking if they could get free masks again because they hadn’t received any coupons yet.
The German Foundation for Patient Protection demanded that the purchase of a mask can be reimbursed later with a voucher. The risk of infection is now higher, said board member Eugen Brysch.

Health insurance customers sometimes have to wait until February to receive coupons.
The central association of statutory health insurance companies announced that the delivery of the vouchers by the Federal Printing began last week. Now health insurance companies are responsible for repacking and shipping the insured.
According to its own information, Techniker Krankenkasse has so far shipped about 20 percent of the coupons. According to information provided by the Barmer health insurance company, a third of the requested vouchers have been delivered. Health insurers expect the campaign to last until February. Private health insurers would send about 1.2 million letters to policyholders by the end of this week, according to a spokesman for the Private Health Insurance Association (PKV).
