In Philadelphia, police said there was an attempt to rob the polling place. Police in the largest city in the state of Pennsylvania received a tip that a vehicle with armed people had left the state of Virginia to attack the convention center, a police officer said.
One person was arrested and the vehicle and a weapon were seized. No further information was provided initially.
In Pennsylvania, Democrats have yet to decide the choice between President Donald Trump and his challenger Joe Biden. With 20 voters, the state is one of the largest in the country. If Biden won there, he would have won the presidential election. Currently, Trump’s head start is shrinking as more ballots received by mail are evaluated.
