Party like a corona stove? Berchtesgaden district administrator versus Söder

Corona incidence decreased slightly

According to Krämer, 40 more infected people have been added since Monday. However, the seven-day incidence (new infections per 100,000 population in seven days) dropped from 252 to 236.

Currently there are 260 people infected, 169 of them have symptoms such as cough or fever, explained the head of the health department. Two suspected cases and twelve confirmed cases in the normal ward are currently in treatment at the Bad Reichenhall Clinic, and two other patients are ventilated in the intensive care unit. Currently, one is “far from” reaching a capacity limit.

Vacationers have to go home, without a crown test

Under the district’s new general decree, only business travelers can stay overnight in Berchtesgadener Land for the time being, so tourists must leave. According to the district administrator, hotels and accommodation owners must ask their guests to leave the district. However, Kern was convinced that the owner could be “trusted.” As far as he knows, there is no crown test for these vacationers.

The Chancellor of the State of Bavaria, Florian Herrmann (CSU), had already confirmed this after a cabinet meeting in Munich: It is the responsibility of each individual to think about “where he was everywhere” after a stay in a risk zone and then also “. for you to try it yourself to be sure.”

As a result, numerous tourists from Berchtesgadener Land now return to their places of origin not knowing whether they may have been infected. District administrator Kern cannot say anything about their approximate number, according to an estimate by Berchtesgadener Land Tourismus GmbH, around 2,500 people are on vacation in the region.

Schools closed, religious services allowed – district administrator upholds rules

Kern defended the decision to allow religious services for the next two weeks while schools and nurseries, cinemas, libraries and gyms had to close. “Services will not be affected,” he said. Hygiene requirements would be respected in churches.

Traditional visits to cemeteries around the feast of All Saints will also be allowed: “Every year, All Saints is celebrated every year, also this year 2020. I think we owe it to our deceased,” argued the district administrator.

Schoolchildren and kindergarten children should stay home

Berchtesgadener Land is the first Bavarian district since the closure of schools nationwide in spring, in which all schools, kindergartens, kindergartens and after-school care centers are temporarily closed again. Emergency care should only be available for children of parents in certain occupational groups and single parents. Those who live in Berchtesgadener Land cannot visit any facilities outside the district. On the other hand, participation in tests outside the district is allowed. However, the respective test object must be separated from other participants and strictly observe the rules of hygiene and distance.

The district administrator expressed the hope that schools and daycare centers will be able to reopen on November 9 after the two-week closure and subsequent fall break. The prerequisite for this is that the number of infections drops dramatically.

Exit restrictions for two weeks

Kern does not want the drastic restrictions to be understood as “blocking.” “From my point of view, it is not a blockade,” he said. “We are not restricted in our freedom of movement, we are not restricted in shopping, we are not restricted in our walking.”

However, in Berchtesgadener Land, a new general decree with severe restrictions on public life is now in effect for two weeks. It is valid until 2 November inclusive, at midnight, and contains, among other things, strict exit restrictions, the first in Bavaria in several months. You can only leave your apartment “if there are valid reasons”, for example to go to work, go shopping or take care of animals. Outdoor sports and exercise are also permitted, but only alone, with members of your own household or a person from another household.

The police must monitor compliance with exit restrictions. Those affected should make the “valid reasons” credible to officials, says the general decree.

Restaurants, leisure and cultural facilities are limited

All events, with the exception of the religious services mentioned, are prohibited. Retail and service businesses can remain open. Leisure, sports and cultural facilities, on the other hand, must remain closed for two weeks. Bus trips and markets (except for weekly markets) are prohibited.

Restaurants are said to be closed, as are beer gardens. Takeout meals can be served until 8 pm. Hotels can only accept business travelers. The approximately 2,500 guests currently on vacation in the region have to leave.

Mandatory mask in crowded places.

A mask is required at train stations and bus stops. Additionally, mouth and nose protection should be worn in Bad Reichenhall, Freilassing, Berchtesgaden and Schönau am Königssee between 6 am and 11 pm in certain public spaces and busy streets.

There are strict prohibitions on visiting clinics, the elderly, and nursing homes. The accompaniment of the dying by close relatives is still allowed.
