On steroids in the White House: his doctor says Trump is “back”

The president of the United States “has not yet cleared the mountain,” says his doctor, but he really wants to send a much more positive message. More interesting is what Sean Conley doesn’t say.

US President Donald Trump is back at the White House, the place where he presumably not only got infected with the coronavirus, but more than a dozen of his employees tested positive for Covid-19. Upon his return, he made it clear that the virus could not harm him. “Maybe I’m immune, I don’t know,” he said in a video recorded at the White House.

Based on all that is known so far about Corona, Trump could still be contagious. Your doctors know it too. “We work with our infectious disease experts to keep everything safe in the White House,” his physician Sean Conley said at a news conference.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, people infected with corona should stay home for at least ten days after the onset of symptoms. Instead, Trump has already announced that he wants to get back into the election campaign. “I’ll be back to the campaign soon !!!”, he tweeted and added a comment on the polls, which clearly see him behind the Democratic presidential candidate: “Fake news only shows fake polls.”

His doctors announced Monday that Trump would continue to be treated with dexamethasone, among other things. This is a steroid that is generally given for severe Covid-19 cycles. Conley said the president was breathing easily and showing normal vital signs. “Even if he’s probably not completely out of the woods yet,” Trump is sure to return home, especially as he will receive the best medical care in the White House. Conley added a comment that was probably to Trump’s taste: “He’s back,” he’s back.

Conley declined to answer several specific questions about Trump’s health, including whether the president had pneumonia, the severity of the viral load he was diagnosed with, and whether he was administered blood thinners. When asked when the last time Trump tested negative, Conley said he didn’t want to look back. The question is relevant because the president is accused of not having entered quarantine even though he had known for a long time that he was infected.

The US presidential election is four weeks away and some states are already voting. The president plans to continue participating in the second television debate with challenger Joe Biden on Oct. 15, a spokesman for Trump’s campaign team told Fox News.

This Wednesday the first debate will take place between Vice President Mike Pence and the Democratic candidate for office, Kamala Harris. According to media reports, the two should be separated by a Plexiglass panel.
