OB choice in Zwickau – preliminary final result is here! Constance Arndt clearly wins
Zwickau – Political explosion in Zwickau! Constance Arndt (citizen of Zwickau) won the OB elections in Zwickau on Sunday, clearly! CDU candidate Kathrin Köhler lost a lot.
Of the original five candidates, two women stayed and entered the second round: Kathrin Köhler (CDU) and Constance Arndt (citizens of Zwickau). They both fought for the position of head of the city in the city hall!
In the first vote on September 20, Köhler won with 31.5 percent. Arndt got 21.7 percent of the vote.
Some 72,500 Zwickau residents were asked to vote on Sunday. 37.67 percent of all eligible voters cast their vote.
Constance Arndt received 71.9 percent of the vote in Sunday’s second ballot. Competitor Kathrin Köhler (CDU) came in at just 28.06 percent.

Update, 8 pm: All votes are counted! Constance Arndt (citizen of Zwickau) clearly wins the OB election with 71.94 percent. Kathrin Köhler (CDU) reached 28.06 percent. The turnout was 37.67 percent.

Update, 4 pm: At 4 in the afternoon it was The turnout was 19.5 percent, three weeks ago it was 23.9 percent. Vote by mail was not taken into account.

Update, 2.30 pm: Turnout at 2 pm was 15 percent. For comparison: In the first round of voting, 18 percent of those eligible to vote cast their votes at that time.
Current electoral participation
Update, 1 pm: In Zwickau, 10.5 percent of those eligible to vote had arrived at the polling stations by noon. Three weeks ago it was 12.5 percent.
The one who receives the most votes is the new mayor of Zwickau. It is going to be exciting!
