The Minister of Education, Grant Hendrik Tonne (SPD), announces that the country is investing 45 million euros in the protection of the crown.
With 25 million euros, around 5,000 educational employees will be hired at a rate of 450 euros for six months. According to Tonne, this would mean at least one additional employee for every school in Lower Saxony. For protection against infections, the “hardware”, as Tonne said, there is available 20 million euros. Protective plexiglass walls, interchangeable masks, if necessary FFP2 masks for teachers and, in special circumstances, air filters are available.
Make protective measures understandable
The objective of the press conferences in the state of Corona is to provide weekly information on changes in the number of infections, the situation in hospitals, schools and health authorities, according to the State Chancellery. State government findings on compliance with Crown rules and the effect of regulatory measures, as well as the effects of measures taken on the economy and society, can be discussed. “The more people know about the background to the virus outbreak in Lower Saxony, the better they will understand the protective measures,” the State Chancellery said. Depending on the main topic, ministers or Prime Minister Stephan Weil (SPD) should inform themselves about the situation.
