Culture Minister Grant Hendrik Tonne (SPD) is currently presenting more measures to protect against infection in schools. The state government is investing 45 million euros in personnel and greater protection of the crown.
With weekly press conferences, the state government wants to educate people about the virus and make protection measures easier to understand. Today, Education Minister Tonne, Laura Pooth, President of the Lower Saxony Education and Science Union (GEW), and Andrea Kunkel, President of the Lower Saxony School Management Association (SLVN), discuss the situation and the measures in schools in Lower Saxony. Secretary of State Heiger Scholz, as head of the state government’s Corona Crisis Team, is available as a contact person for general corona information.
Make protective measures understandable
The objective of the press conferences in the state of Corona is to provide weekly information on changes in the number of infections, the situation in hospitals, schools and health authorities, according to the State Chancellery. State government findings on compliance with Crown rules and the effect of regulatory measures, as well as the effects of measures taken on the economy and society, can be discussed. “The more people know about the background to the virus outbreak in Lower Saxony, the better they will understand the protective measures,” the State Chancellery said. Depending on the main topic, ministers or Prime Minister Stephan Weil (SPD) should inform themselves about the situation.
