reGerman health authorities reported 1,892 new corona infections in one day. Since the beginning of the Corona crisis, at least 255,366 people in Germany have been shown to have been infected with the Sars-CoV-2 virus, as announced by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on its website on Thursday (data status 9/10, 0 am). The number of deaths related to a corona infection is 9341. That is three more than the day before.
For the first time since June, the number of corona tests recorded weekly by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) has decreased again. In the week from August 31 to September 6, a good million tests were counted, about 50,000 less than the previous week. It is the first time since the week of June 22-28 that the number of tests has decreased again.
According to RKI estimates in Germany, the number of views, or R-value for short, was 0.88 (day before: 1.10) according to a Wednesday statement. This means that an infected person infects less than another person on average. The R value represents the infection rate approximately one and a half weeks earlier.
Additionally, the RKI gives a seven-day R on its current status report. The value refers to a longer period and is therefore less subject to daily fluctuations. According to RKI estimates, this value was 0.95 (previous day: 0.98). It shows the infection process for eight to 16 days.
