New details in the criminal case: Rebecca’s brother-in-law kept watching porn in the morning | Regional

Berlin – On the morning of February 18, 2019, Berlin student Rebecca Reusch (then 15 years old) disappeared without a trace. Now it comes to light: At the same time, her brother-in-law (then 27 years old) was still watching porn, just one floor above the room where Rebecca slept on the couch. In initial conversations with investigators, he had stated that he was sleeping at the time …

Two journalists who investigated for a year and spoke with various people who had access to files have that on their podcast “In the dark – the Rebecca Reusch case” published.

► The prosecution believes that the brother-in-law killed the 15-year-old girl and took the body to Poland in a car and buried it. His vehicle was registered on the A12 at 10:47 am on the day of his disappearance. During the interrogation, the brother-in-law had said that he slept until mid-morning.

Florian R. was the last person said to have seen Rebecca alive, he is still considered a suspect because he became entangled in contradictions during interrogations. He was silent on the accusations. At the beginning of the interrogation, he only said: “I have nothing to do with Rebecca’s disappearance.” He was arrested and released twice. The prosecutor stated at the time that in view of the “current evidence”, the release of Florian R. was justifiable. His lawyer had previously filed a complaint.

More details are revealed in the three episodes of the eight-part podcast that have already been released. According to her friends, Rebecca often had “phases of depression”, writing messages such as: “Everyone has a purpose in life. Be it work, love or children. I have none.”

However, the prosecution does not assume a suicide. Investigators consider it out of the question that the girl, who, according to her friends, “was always online”, voluntarily left home in Berlin-Neukölln without her cell phone.

In upcoming episodes, an ex-girlfriend of the brother-in-law should also have a voice in the explosive details. Journalists hope more witnesses will come forward.

Because: There is still no trace of the girl. The Reusch family becomes attached to their brother-in-law, who has a daughter with Rebecca’s sister.

Der Fall Rebecca

After Jessica left the house with her son (2) around 7 am, Florian R. and Rebecca, who were sleeping on the couch, stayed behind.
