A new ordinance protecting the crown will apply in Saxony from Saturday. As the Minister of Social Affairs Petra Köpping explained, the development of the virus should be slowed down with a two-step model. In regions with more than 35 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in a week, family celebrations are limited to 25 participants. Up to 250 people can participate in outdoor events and up to 100 indoors. In schools, masks are required, but not in class.

There is a nightly curfew for restaurants and bars. They must also record the contact details of their guests. If the incidence value of 50 is exceeded, the curfew will be extended and even fewer participants will be allowed in family celebrations and events. In general, the mask requirement will also apply in the future in doctors’ waiting rooms.

The previous Crown Protection Ordinance should apply until November 2. However, due to the sharp increase in the number of infections, the Saxon state government has decided to tighten the measures.
