The crown’s situation in the US is getting worse. Just days before the US presidential election, the number of new infections rose to more than 90,000 in 24 hours, a record. The number of deaths is also terrifying.
The United States recorded more new corona infections Thursday than ever. There were more than 91,000 cases. The previous daily record was reported on October 23 with 84,169 cases. Worldwide, India has the highest number of new infections recorded in a single day with 97,894 infections.
In addition to new infections, deaths and hospitalizations are also increasing. For the third time in October, more than 1,000 people died from the virus in 24 hours. This brought the total death toll in the United States to 229,000.
The US states currently most affected include Ohio, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, which were highly controversial in the presidential election campaign. The decision here could be whether Republican President Donald Trump receives a second term or whether Democratic challenger Joe Biden succeeds him. The election will take place on November 3.
