According to the Berlin Charité, the Kremlin Navalny critic’s health has improved. This now spoke himself, with a photo on Instagram.

Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny spoke for the first time after being poisoned. The 44-year-old man posted a photo on Instagram.

“Hi, I’m Navalny. I miss you all,” says the caption. “I still can’t do anything, but yesterday I was able to breathe on my own all day.” In the photo you can see Navalny sitting next to his wife on a hospital bed at the Charité in Berlin.

The Russian opposition leader was hospitalized on August 22, after collapsing two days earlier on a domestic flight in Siberia.

Even before Navalny’s post on Instagram, Charité announced that her condition had continued to improve. According to this, he could be “completely weaned from mechanical ventilation” and temporarily leave his bed.

Novichok confirmed by laboratories

According to the federal government, the opposition was poisoned with a chemical nerve agent from the so-called Novitschok group, and laboratories in France and Sweden confirmed the finding.

Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) spoke of an “attempted poisoning” and asked for an explanation from Russia. Since then, tensions between Berlin and Moscow have escalated enormously. The Russian government denies any blame for the poisoning of President Vladimir Putin’s opponent.

Russia underscores its willingness to help

Meanwhile, Russia reiterated its willingness to investigate the poison attack on the opposition politician. A spokesman for the presidential office in Moscow said everyone would be happy if Navalny recovered. This could go back to Russia. However, the Russian government still does not understand why it does not have access to Navalny’s samples.
