Navalny in a coma: this is what the Kremlin critic is doing 13 days after the poison attack

The poisoned Kremlin critic Alexej Navalny (44) has been in the intensive care unit of the Berlin Charité for almost a week and a half.

BILD learned Wednesday: Critic Still Comatose 13 Days After Poison Attack; his condition has not changed so far. But it’s still stable!

After being poisoned at Tomsk (Siberia) airport, either from tea he drank or some other “contact poison,” he fell into a coma on the flight to Moscow. EMERGENCY LANDING! From Omsk, where the Russian opposition was treated badly rather than correctly for two days, Navalny was eventually brought to Berlin and the local Charité.

At the beginning of last week, the Charité announced the bitter certainty: “The clinical findings indicate intoxication by a substance from the group of active principles of cholinesterase inhibitors.” In simple words: Navalny was poisoned!

Late last week, an update from doctors on the blogger, journalist and politician’s health said he was “stable.”

Navalny “is still in an intensive care unit in an artificial coma and is mechanically ventilated,” the doctors said. His state of health is “still serious, without serious danger to life”. As before, the possible long-term consequences of severe poisoning for the patient are not foreseeable.

After all: “The symptoms of the cholinergic crisis caused by the inhibition of cholinesterase are decreasing,” explained the doctors. In other words, the terrible symptoms of the partial and total failure of a large number of organs of the enemy of the Kremlin are receding. A ray of hope for his wife, who is “in close contact” with the doctors and has accepted the publication of the information on her husband’s state of health.

On Friday, BILD reported that a blood sample from Nawalny had been available for examination by Bundeswehr specialists in Munich since Wednesday. There it is convenient to clarify the suspicion of whether Navalny was poisoned with a chemical warfare agent.

To clarify this suspicion, doctors from Great Britain and Bulgaria were also consulted, “Spiegel” reported on Friday. In both countries, Waldimir Putin’s enemies had previously been attacked with neurotoxins.

Another Putin critic beaten to the hospital

And while Navalny is receiving treatment at the hospital, another Kremlin critic was injured. Strangers attacked blogger Yegor Zhukov (22) in front of his house and beat him.

Zhukov suffered severe lacerations to his face and had to be hospitalized on suspicion of a traumatic brain injury, as Echo Moskwy radio station reported Monday..

However, he suffered no serious internal injuries, Zhukov’s team said. Now he has been discharged from the hospital.
