Munich – Munich’s “side thinkers” can leave their banners and posters in their cupboards on Saturday: after the administrative court, the Bavarian Administrative Court also confirmed the ban on a demonstration scheduled for Saturday.
The organizers had registered a rally with up to 30,000 participants on Theresienwiese. The city of Munich prohibited this and the decision was upheld in court on Friday.
The city rightly assumed that the assembly, taking into account the experience with assemblies of the “lateral thinking” movement, was not justifiable in terms of the infection protection law, stated the responsible Senate of the Bavarian Administrative Court.
During the administrative process, the organizers expressly refused to take precautions to comply with hygiene measures, that is, minimum distances and use of masks. The guarantee of such measures, which was only postponed in court proceedings, was assessed as “purely procedural tactical presentations” and was “incredible”.
There are no legal remedies against the decision of the Administrative Court.
Demo disguised as a religious service?
In early November, the “lateral thinkers” had unceremoniously redeclared a limited 1,000-participant demonstration as a service. A pastor of an evangelical free church spoke on stage in front of the crowd. Television priest Jürgen Fliege also performed there.
The “Unconventional Thinkers 089” are now calling for a “peace service” starting at 2pm on Saturday as well. It is not clear if this can happen. A police spokesman: “We are there with a large enough police force and we will see the situation.”
