Four bus occupants injured after an accident

On Saturday night, Mözen crashed into a bus in Schleswig-Holstein. A 16-year-old girl died and four other passengers on the bus were injured. The driver fled on foot after the accident, but reported it to police in Bad Godesberg through his lawyer on Sunday morning, an RTL police spokesman confirmed. The 20-year-old man from the Segeberg district is now in police custody. The reason he fled remains under investigation.

The alleged cause of the accident initially fled

Using a police helicopter and thermal imaging cameras, the police had searched for the alleged cause of the accident at night, but without success. The driver has disappeared without a trace. He must have fled the crash site on foot before rescuers arrived. On Sunday morning, the 20-year-old’s lawyer appeared before the police through his lawyer and informed the officers of the man’s whereabouts. He was taken into custody.

According to initial findings, the driver of the black VW van slipped out of the lane at around 8:30 p.m. for an unexplained cause, ran into a tree, rolled over multiple times, and struck the back of the bus. Apparently the 16-year-old was sitting on the bus right at the point of impact. He had no chance and died on the spot. Of a total of nine other occupants of the bus, four arrived at the hospital with minor injuries.

The B432 between Bad Segeberg and Leezen was completely closed for several hours. The police have started the investigation.

Father found his daughter’s cell phone

As the “Bild” writes, the father of the injured girl ran to the crash site that night. He had located his daughter’s cell phone and noticed that it did not change location for a long time. When she arrived, they say she was already dead. The mission was also emotionally stressful for the rescuers.
