Born in 1941 in Chelsea, Massachusetts, Korea was one of the most important representatives of jazz rock. In his long career he won 23 Grammy Awards. He played with trumpeter Miles Davis, among others, and in 1971 he founded the formation “Return To Forever”.
As a composer, Corea wrote the Latin jazz classic “Spain”, probably his most famous hit. Other well-known pieces that are considered jazz standards are “500 Miles High” and “La Fiesta.”
