A mother and her 11-year-old son died after a serious car accident near Saterland in the Cloppenburg district. According to police, the 37-year-old driver of the car died at the crash site Friday night, and the boy succumbed to serious injuries at a clinic on Saturday morning. The 32-year-old passenger and five other children are seriously injured and are being treated at clinics, said police spokesman Hendrik Ebmeyer.

The car leaves a straight lane

According to previous police findings, the 37-year-old driver was traveling with four children. Of the other three children aged two to ten, two initially fought for their lives, but according to police there was no longer any serious danger to their lives on Saturday afternoon. A boy and the 32-year-old passenger and their daughters, ages 9 and 13, are also considered seriously injured.

At the crash site in the Cloppenburg district, four helicopters and several ambulances were in use Friday night.
