In this way, the winter tires grip better, the car stays safer on the track and the braking and steering behavior can also be improved. However, if it is predominantly dry or wet, you must strictly follow the manufacturer’s information on tire pressure.
From a purely legal point of view, tires approved as winter tires in Germany are only required on winter roads, because in this country there is a so-called situational winter tire requirement. But even in the cold, softer winter tires show their advantages over summer tires. According to the AvD, they also offer a safety gain on wet, slippery roads with leaves and when there is frost.
