WhatsApp has increased the number of potential participants in a video call from four to eight. For this, however, all users need the latest version of messenger, and the explanation of the update also immediately indicates the new number of participants. At first, it seems like it’s only available for iOS devices.
Group calls can be initiated directly into an existing group, but you can also add participants individually to a two-way conversation. The calls are still end-to-end encrypted.
Allowing or creating better conditions for larger groups to use video conferencing services is a crown trend. I just started Google Meet increases the number of participants on the screen to 16 at the same time. Google Duo allows up to twelve participants, FaceTime at Apple currently has 32 people, Facebook’s recently launched application, Messenger Rooms, allows 50 people, and Zoom can allow up to 100 people to participate in the free version.
