In a support document, Dell showed two new monitors for office use before the official launch. The Ultrasharp U271DE and U2421HE are 27 and 24 inches tall, respectively. The special feature: the devices have integrated USB Type-C and RJ45 for Gigabit Ethernet. The monitors thus serve as a kind of docking station. Users can connect their laptop via USB-C and then access Ethernet, two USB-A sockets on the back, and two USB-A ports on the side. With Displayport 1.4 Alternate Mode and 65W power delivery, the same USB-C port also serves as a power source and image transmission medium.
Work market
Dell installs a matte IPS panel on both monitors, which has a 1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution on the 24-inch model and shines at 250 cd / m². The 27-inch monitor has a slightly finer resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels and 350 cd / m² illumination. Both panels must cover 85 percent of the DCI-P3 color space and have a Delta E color accuracy of less than 2. Contrast is 1,000: 1, frame rate is normal at 60 Hz.
In addition to the integrated docking station, more connections can be found on the bottom of the monitors. Users can connect them via HDMI 2.0 or Displayport 1.4. It is also possible to operate multiple daisy chained monitors through one display port output. In addition, the support is adjustable in height and inclination. The monitor has a standard 100 x 100mm Vesa stand and can therefore also be used with other feet or hung on the wall.
Both monitors are already listed in the manufacturer’s online store. The price of the U2721DE is 544 euros. The U2421HE costs 300 euros. Delivery time is currently one to two weeks.
