Microsoft: worldwide disruption in Outlook and Teams – digital

Microsoft believes that a recently introduced change caused the failure. Although this has since been reversed, the company says there are still connectivity issues.

Microsoft 365 services have been disrupted worldwide since Tuesday. A recent change has likely caused a major outage, also affecting the Outlook email program and the Microsoft Teams collaboration service, the company said. Some Azure cloud platform customers also reported issues. Microsoft did not disclose how many users were affected or affected by the outage.

Even after the change was reversed, the Windows and Office software developers could not have observed an “increase in successful connections”, the problem would persist. “We are looking at measures to limit the damage. In parallel, we are redirecting data traffic to alternative systems to further alleviate affected users,” the company’s website said.

Google’s cloud services were only temporarily interrupted on Friday night. Users complained online about problems with the Google Cloud storage service, the Google Photos photo platform, and the Google Meet video chat offering. The group announced that the cause was the failure of a group of servers.
