As in each of her four years in the White House, First Lady Melania Trump took over the Christmas decorations. This was often the cause of ridicule and malice. You have now submitted your latest selection.
62 Christmas trees, nearly 125 kilos of gingerbread dough and thousands of lights – this year’s Christmas decorations were unveiled at the White House. First lady Melania Trump, 50, wrote on Twitter that the decorations honored America’s “greatness.” It is the last Christmas that the family of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, spends in the seat of the government in the capital of the United States, Washington, before his term ends on January 20.
At just under fifteen feet, the official White House Christmas tree fits under the ceiling of the Blue Room, one of three rooms on the first floor. Among yellow ribbons and garlands, it is adorned with pendants designed by schoolchildren from different parts of the country.
The jewels in the Red Room are under the sign of the pandemic: ambulances hang from the tree, the replica of a supermarket is in the fireplace, delivery services are also honored. In the banquet hall you can see a gingerbread house in the shape of the seat of government. Under the classic trees of Cross Hall, which are mostly decorated with red balls, there are packages labeled “Peace”, “Love” and “Joy”.
The First Lady personally selected “every detail” of the décor, the White House announced. A few weeks ago, recordings of a phone call between Melania Trump and her former friend Stephanie Winston Wolkoff were released, in which the first lady complained in cordial words about the lack of interest in Christmas decorations.
