Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder warned in a government statement about the consequences of the growing corona infection. “Corona is everywhere,” Söder said. “If we do nothing, the consequences are dramatic.”
All the fears have come true. In many regions, the pandemic is out of control. Bavaria is also “completely covered again”. The second wave is here and it is worse than before. “Development is skyrocketing,” Söder continued.
“It reaches hospitals everywhere,” the prime minister said. Occupied Covid beds would have increased by 70 percent in Bavaria. Nursing staff will soon reach their limits too. If the care of crown patients cannot be guaranteed, even though the number of intensive care beds has increased compared to spring, then the risk to patients increases significantly again.

The only way to curb the number of infections is to shut down public life. “It’s a blocking light,” Söder explained. The priority is to keep schools and nurseries open.
