Mario Götze has already met again.
Shortly before the break, the newcomer scored 1-0 for PSV Eindhoven in the Europa League duel with FC Granada (NOW on LIVETICKER).
Denzel Dumfries headed the ball to the edge of the penalty area. Götze came running in and fired the ball into the right corner to cap off his great performance in the first half.

Granada turned the game around in the second half with goals from Jorge Molina (57th) and Darwin Machís (66th) and won. Gotze was no longer on the field, Roger Schmidt brought him down for a break.
According to the club, Götze suffered a muscle injury, whether he can play Vitesse again on Sunday is questionable. “I don’t think it’s a very serious injury, we will have to wait for tomorrow,” said Schmidt, who spoke of an injunction. Götze had “had the feeling that he was pinching” even before the game.
The hosts’ game was noticeably worse without the offensive man.
Götze ends the long hiatus
For Götze it was the third goal in the Europa League of his career. In September 2010, the 2014 world champion scored a brace against Karpaty Lviv for Borussia Dortmund.
The 28-year-old last met in a European competition on September 14, 2016. In a 6-0 win over Legia Warsaw in the Champions League, he secured a 1-0 lead. Then he couldn’t cheer in 22 games.
One day before the Europa League game, PSV had reported positive corona tests with Cody Gakpo, Pablo Rosario and Maxime Delanghe.
Götze celebrates dream debut
Götze, who joined the Dutch club after ending his contract with BVB, made his dream debut in his first league game for Eindhoven on Sunday and scored a goal in the 9th minute in a 3-0 win over PEC Zwolle.
“My feelings and my condition improve every day and that’s really good for me. I need a few more weeks to get really fit and be able to play 100 percent. Give me a few more games and we will see where I am,” Gotze said. Fox Sports smiling and expressive after the game.
Now Götze attacked again: faith in one’s own strength seems to have returned. Another fairy tale was missing because of defeat and his injuries.
