Large-scale operation for the fire brigade in Hamburg-Billstedt: a 27-year-old man died Sunday night in a fire in the refugee accommodation in Mattkamp.
Other people were not injured, a fire department spokesman said. 10 to 20 residents were able to escape abroad.

The fire apparently broke out on the ground floor of the two-story building. In the wooden house the fire could spread quickly, it was completely extinguished.
Residents stayed in neighboring log houses with friends or family or in another refugee shelter. The fire department was in place with 60 emergency services. According to the police, there is still no information on the cause of the fire.
