Lower voter turnout than expected in 2012

The Statistical Office expects (from 4 pm) a much lower turnout. If the previous trend continues, this would be 44.1 percent. That would be lower than the first ballot and also lower than the second ballot in 2012.

In the second voting attempt, there are indications of a slightly lower turnout than in the first elections three weeks ago. “It’s still pretty quiet in the polling stations,” city spokesman Sven Matis tweeted on Sunday afternoon. The statistical office had collected the participation until 12 noon. If the trend continues, voter turnout is assumed to be 44.5 percent. In cool temperatures and under strict crowning conditions, polling stations have been open since 8 a.m. Around 450,000 people from Stuttgart are invited to cast their vote before 6 p.m. According to the city, 115,000 people have already voted by mail. According to the Stuttgart city administration, the provisional official final result should be available around 8:30 pm
