Entwicklungsminister Gerd Müller (CSU) hat die internationale Gemeinschaft aufgefordert, den künftigen Impfstoff gegen das Coronavirus weltweit günstig zur Verfügung zu stellen. Vor der von der EU-Kommission initiierten Geber-Videokonferenz an diesem Montag sagte Müller der Düsseldorfer “Rheinischen Post” (Montag): “Egal wer den Impfstoff zuerst hat: Es muss sichergestellt sein, dass er überall auf der Welt und zu einem erschwinglichen Preis verfügbar ist. Denn Corona besiegen wir nur weltweit, sonst kommt es in Wellen zurück.” Corona sei ein Weckruf für eine bessere internationale Zusammenarbeit. “Wir müssen alle Kräfte bündeln, um schnell einen Impfstoff zu entwickeln.”

Die Landesregierung von Nordrhein-Westfalen hat bei der Kita-Öffnung in der Corona-Pandemie mit einem Alleingang gedroht, sollte Kanzlerin Angela Merkel am kommenden Mittwoch mit den Ministerpräsidenten keinen einheitlichen Kurs beschließen. “Ich möchte jetzt gerne unseren Weg gehen. Wir lassen uns nicht noch eine Woche vertrösten”, sagte NRW-Familienminister Joachim Stamp (FDP) im “Morning Briefing”-Podcast (Montag) von Gabor Steingart. Zwar sollten sich Erzieher und Tagespflegepersonal in der derzeitigen Situation sicher fühlen können, aber andererseits müssten auch die Kinder möglichst zügig zurück in die Betreuung.

“Wir haben als Familienminister klare Wege aufgezeigt. Es gibt ein Konzept der schrittweisen Öffnung”, sagte Stamp weiter. Dieses sehe vier Phasen vor – “von der Notbetreuung über die erweiterte Notbetreuung bis zum improvisierten Regelbetrieb und schließlich dem Regelbetrieb.” Man sei nun in der zweiten Phase so weit, einen improvisierten Regelbetrieb ins Auge fassen zu können.

Die Zahl der Genesenen klettert in Deutschland um 5.139 auf insgesamt 126.153 an. Neuinfektionen wurden hierzulande nur 699 gezählt. 54 neue Todesfälle wurden gemeldet. Damit liegt die Zahl nun bei 6.866. Weltweit haben sich inzwischen mehr als 3,5 Millionen Menschen mit dem Coronavirus infiziert. Davon sollen nach Angaben der Johns Hopkins Universität mehr als 1,1 Millionen wieder genesen sein. Die Zahl der Covid-19-Todesfälle beträgt weltweit 247.475.

Ein Leitartikel der staatlichen Zeitung “China Global Times” verurteilt die Vorwürfe der USA, das neuartige Coronavirus stammt aus einem Labor in Wuhan. “The Trump administration continues an unprecedented propaganda war as it tries to hamper global efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic,” the editorial said on Monday. Pompeo habe keine Beweise dafür, dass das Virus seinen Ursprung in dem Labor in Wuhan habe und dass er “bluffte”. The article calls on the United States to reveal evidence. Die Tageszeitung unter der Schirmherrschaft der Kommunistischen Partei Chinas reagierte damit auf ein ein Interview des US-Außenministers Mike Pompeo vom Sonntag, in dem dieser erklärte, es gebe eine Menge Hinweise darauf, SARS-CoV-19 sei aus einem chinesischen Labor in der Hauptstadt der Provinz Hubei. Die besten Experten würden glauben, der Erreger sei menschengemacht, so Pompeo in dem Interview.

Und dazu haben sie auch noch einige Zeit, bevor die Alltagshektik wieder einsetzt: Regierungschef Shinzo Abe will den Notstand bis zum 31. Mai verlängern. Bis dahin sollen die Bürger möglichst zu Hause bleiben.
