Lippesee: Angler has discovered a car lost for nine years

Nine years after breaking into a vehicle construction company, a fisherman discovered the missing vehicle at Lippesee in North Rhine-Westphalia. While searching for fish with his sonar device, the 27-year-old noticed the contours of a vehicle on Sunday, as Paderborn police announced.

According to the information, it was a car that was stolen in 2011 and was used to remove a vault that was also stolen. According to police, the transporter was in the water about 15 meters from the lippe lake dam wall and was quickly identified as the stolen vehicle by its license number.

The fire department lifted the vehicle with forklift bags. Divers dragged the cart by boat onto a winch that was used to lift it out of the water. On the surface, the vehicle turned out to be empty and was impounded.

Insurance missing, author unknown

In the raid in Salzkotten-Verlar, unknown perpetrators had stolen a safe in December 2011. The safe, which weighs several hundred kilograms, is said to have been loaded onto a company transporter parked in the factory building with a forklift. Police were unable to identify the perpetrator at the time.

The safe has disappeared to this day. It is not known what it contained. According to the police, there will be no further investigations, the act is prohibited.
