Leipzig conceded their first goal against Paris from the start. Coach Julian Nagelsmann’s team feared the next defeat. But, above all, a penalty for PSG was the turning point in a spectacular game.
In the absence of the magical Neymar / Kylian Mbappé duo, RB Leipzig returned the favor to Paris St. Germain and headed for the knockout round in the premier class. Di Maria is early
78 days earlier, Paris had taught the Bundesliga club a lesson with coach Thomas Tuchel at 3-0 and ended the dream of the Champions League final. Leipzig started with a starting eleven changed to five positions, but Nagelsmann did so without a forward. The RB coach relied on agile coaches such as Forsberg and Dani Olmo and announced that his players would act “with a knife between their teeth.” But at first there was little to see.
Nkunku compensates
PSG was initially the best team with the clearest chances. Striker Moise Kean in particular, who was allowed to appear because of Neymar and Mbappé’s injuries, caused problems for the RB defense.
