The evacuation of the previously occupied house at Liebigstrasse 34 continues to take effect in the scene on the left. During a protest in Friedrichshain on Saturday night, there were clashes between protesters and the police.

According to the police, 20 people were temporarily detained. The suspects are being investigated on suspicion of serious violation of public order, assault on police officers, attempted release of prisoners and insults. Seven emergency services were injured during the operation, two of whom had to be treated at the hospital.

On Saturday night, according to police, up to 1,000 protesters gathered at Helsingforster Platz in Friedrichshain to march towards Storkower Straße under the slogan “United we fight.” The police were on the scene with a large contingent of 600 officers and were supported by Federal Police forces.

Already at the beginning of the elevator, occasional bottles were thrown at the police officers. Around 8:30 pm the top of the demonstration reached the previously occupied house at Liebigstrasse 34, when suddenly a banner with the inscription “L34 forever” was lifted from a window of the empty building. At the same time, people launched pyrotechnics and fireworks on the roof of the house.

Apparently, an unspecified number of activists had gained access to the property that had actually been vacated. While protesters and supporters on social media were already talking about a “new date”, the police could not confirm.
