In Hannover, opponents of the crown protection measures are currently protesting at Opernplatz. The protest is organized by the “lateral thinking initiative”.
According to the Hannover police, around 650 participants gathered at the peak. The police have put up barriers at all entrances to Opernplatz. Officials check to see if passers-by wear face and nasal masks, for example, one of the requirements of the demonstration. The police are on the scene with a large number. “It is important to us that all officers who are on duty return home healthy,” said a spokesman.
Ends around 6pm
Police had spoken in advance of up to 900 people who were expected to attend the protests today. Even for a counter-demonstration not far from Opernplatz on the stock exchange, significantly fewer than the announced 600 people have gathered so far. There are currently around 330 participants at the scene, a police spokesperson told NDR.de in the afternoon. According to the police, the organizers canceled two other announced counterattacks. The demonstrations should end around 6 pm

The last rallies broke up
At the national level, people are demonstrating in “lateral thinking” protests against the Crown’s requirements – this weekend in Leipzig, Bochum and Berlin, among others. In past protests, conspiracy theorists and right-wing extremists have mixed with protesters. The rallies ended prematurely several times because the participants did not meet the requirements, such as those for masks and minimum distance.
