reThe Cologne district government has warned against corona rapid tests that have been illegally marketed across the country. If not used by professionals, they could have “catastrophic consequences of infection.” As the authority announced Monday night, these rapid tests have been illegally marketed at gas stations, supermarkets, veterinary offices, breweries, and many other places.
The district government in particular warned against the alleged safety through false negative tests in the case of misuse by lay people, especially before the upcoming holidays. Nor can the risk of injury be ruled out.
According to the information, the evidence was put into circulation by a Frechen company and can therefore be freely acquired by private customers even without specialist knowledge. The tests from two different manufacturers were canceled “as an urgent safety measure,” the district government announced. “Currently, the rapid tests are still partially open, and they have been taken out of the large original packaging, at the sales counter.”
