yesA boat parade in Texas in support of the election campaign of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, resulted in several boats in distress or even sunk. At the parade on Lake Travis northwest of downtown Austin, several boats were full of water and some even sank, the Travis District Sheriff’s Office said on Twitter Saturday. No injuries or other medical emergencies were reported.
There is no evidence of sabotage as the cause of the accidents, sheriff’s spokeswoman Kirsten Dark said. The photos showed ships with pro-Trump flags in rough waters.
The high waves may have been caused by the large number of boats and ships on the lake. On Facebook, more than 2,500 users indicated that they were participating in the boat parade. According to the authorities, the parade was between three and five kilometers long.
Government spokeswoman Dark confirmed that her ships had been sailing on Lake Travis in an extraordinary way. “Some were full of water, some were blocked, some capsized, all kinds of things happened,” he added. It remains to be seen how many ships sank.
The Republican President of the United States, Trump, will run against Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden on November 3.
