“That was close”: Ryan Fischer, Lady Gaga’s dog sitter, narrowly escaped death in the attack in which two of the singer’s dogs were stolen. Fischer announced this in an Instagram post from the hospital.

Fischer dated three of the singer’s French Bulldogs last Wednesday when he was ambushed and shot in Hollywood. Two men escaped with the dogs Koji and Gustav. The third dog, Asia, ran to him when he was bleeding on the street, Fischer wrote on Instagram.

Police are still searching for two suspects between the ages of 20 and 25. The search for the dogs, however, ended well on Friday. A woman found the animals on the street and turned them over, police said.

“Your babies are back and your family is whole again,” Fischer wrote to Lady Gaga. He thanked the pop star and his friends and family for their support. The singer had previously praised her dog walker as a “hero” who risked his life while fighting for the dogs.

According to Fischer’s family, doctors hope the man will make a full recovery. The robbery occurred during a visit to Rome by Lady Gaga, who, according to media reports, is supposed to be there to film.
