Kempten im Allgäu: the police chief retires; his wife is his successor

The chief of police of the Presidium of South / West Swabia in Bavaria, Werner Strößner, is inherited by his wife. Claudia Strößner, vice president of the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution, will head the police headquarters in Kempten from November, announced the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior.

Werner Strößner will then retire. First, the newspaper “Bild” reported on the personnel decision.

Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann (CSU) said the couple was “a successful example” of family compatibility and career in the police force. Claudia Strößner combines legal experience with management experience and soft skills.

According to its own information, the Presidium has around 6,000 square kilometers and almost a million inhabitants, including the cities of Kempten, Memmingen and Kaufbeuren. 2000 employees guarantee “security and order in the protected area”.
