Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain have signed an agreement designed to bring peace to the Middle East. Mediator Trump spoke of a new era.

US President Trump slowly descends the stairs on the south side of the White House with guests from Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain. The contracts are prepared in four tables, in English, Arabic and Hebrew.

They are images that are reminiscent of earlier Middle East agreements with Israel, such as Egypt in 1979 or Jordan in 1994. However, these date back decades. “Now we have added two more in a month,” Trump said after the agreement was signed. You will see great developments and there will be peace in the Middle East, Trump said.

Before the ceremony, a band plays “Love is in the Air” by John Paul Young for the waiting guests on the White House lawn. The failed Middle East mediator Tony Blair has arrived, as has former Trump special envoy Jason Greenblatt and the US Ambassador to Israel David Friedmann.

US Mediation Agreement

With the mediation of the Trump administration, Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain have officially sealed their rapprochement with a signature in Washington. States establish diplomatic relations. US President Trump said that for generations, people in the Middle East have been restrained by lies and hatred. You are now experiencing the beginning of a new Middle East.

Other states would soon follow the lead of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, Trump said. The territorial conflict between Palestinians and Israelis appears in the treaties only indirectly in a reference to agreements that have already been concluded, explained a representative of the Emirates in a video chat with journalists. Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Al-Zayani addressed the issue at the ceremony: “A just, comprehensive and sustainable two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the basis for peace,” Al-Zayani said.

Trump: “Palestinians will participate”

Early in the morning, US President Trump announced on FoxNews television that the Palestinians would soon give in. “The Palestinians will participate. Because all their supporters, all the people who give them a lot of money, they will be part of the deal. Otherwise, they would be left alone in the rain,” Trump said.

Trump also recalled the military dimension of the treaties on the occasion. The UAE wants to buy F35 fighter jets. “Personally, I would have no problem with that,” Trump said. Other countries objected to this because they feared that the Emirates might wage war on it.

Deep down, very different interests play a role, which the contractual partners brought together that day at the White House.
