In Germany, vaccinations against the corona virus begin. But it will be some time before everyone can get vaccinated. And those who cannot or do not want to be vaccinated? Do you have to fear the downsides? Federal Interior Minister Seehofer warns of special rights.

According to Federal Interior Minister Horst Seehofer, anyone who has been vaccinated against the corona virus should not enjoy any special rights. “As important as vaccination is for all of us: there is no special treatment for vaccinated people,” he told “Bild am Sonntag” on the occasion of the start of nationwide vaccinations. The distinction between vaccinated and unvaccinated amounts to mandatory vaccination and goes against compulsion, Seehofer stressed.

The vaccine had gradually reached the federal states on Saturday, in the first federal states vaccinations in nursing homes and senior citizens began early Sunday morning. The first vaccinated patient was a 101-year-old resident of a home in Halberstadt in the Harz region on Saturday night.

Seehofer also rejected special rights from companies such as airlines and concert promoters. “I can only warn against that,” he told the “BamS”. The special treatment for vaccinated people divides society. “The privilege of one is the disadvantage of the other.”

Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn stressed again on Saturday that vaccination was voluntary. However, the goal is to vaccinate as many people as possible against the virus.
