Huawei is not breathing: in the future, it will probably be even more difficult for the cell phone maker to prevail over competition in the smartphone market. A new Google regulation could finally thwart the Chinese’s ambitious plans.

A look at Amazon’s Fire tablets shows that Android is not synonymous with Google. A smartphone or tablet can have Android as a base without having access to the Play Store or Google applications. While techy enthusiasts know this small but subtle difference, the average user is likely to see the search engine company and operating system as inseparable. However, this image could change in the future, to the detriment of Huawei.

Huawei smartphones without Google apps are even more obvious

Apparently, Google-certified Android manufacturers set new requirements for device packaging, as reported by SmartDroid. It should be clearly visible there that Android smartphones or tablets offer access to the Google Play Store and Google Apps and Services. Specifically, it says, “With easy access to the Google apps you use the most.” First, the new brand was found on Xiaomi packaging, then on the recently launched OnePlus 8 series smartphones.

The seemingly new regulation is advantageous for the average user, because they immediately know that all their favorite applications are available on the device. The situation is different for Huawei: The offensive brand makes it clear once again compared to the competition that Huawei’s current smartphones no longer have access to the Google Play Store.

How to control the use of your smartphone:

Huawei’s own ecosystem: is Google foiling the plans?

This could also frustrate Huawei’s plans to build an independent ecosystem, and thus take the group’s last resort in western markets. Presumably, many current Huawei smartphone buyers should not even know that Google apps are missing there and are only surprised to discover this at home. The new brand makes this clearly visible in the electronics business.

Huawei only hopes that the battered company will soon be able to work with Google again.
