A World War II plane bomb will be detonated in Hannover-Seelhorst on Friday night. 6,300 residents had to leave the area around the site.

A loud bang shortly after 11pm on Friday night: the bomb has exploded. The emergency services then set out to scout the area around the blast site. Only then were residents allowed to return to their homes. There were a total of 500 emergency services on site, including the ammunition disposal service.

Pick-up point in sports center

A collection point was set up in the sports hall of the Suthwiesenstrasse school. It is likely that it will only be possible to return to the apartments at night; therefore, those affected were asked to bring medicine, special or baby food and suitable clothing.

Bomb discovered during analysis of aerial photographs

The bomb was discovered during the so-called exploration work of the explosive ordnance disposal service in a colony of orchards in a residential area. Previously, the aerial photos had been evaluated and then selected as fake.
