GörlitzFrom Tuesday (December 1), stricter measures will be applied against the spread of the corona pandemic in the Görlitz district. This also includes an exit restriction, as announced by the district office on Saturday. The value of new infections per 100,000 residents per week was 400.8 on Saturday. Since the beginning of November, the threshold of 200 has been permanently exceeded.

Therefore, the curfew means that residents can only leave their apartments for a valid reason: going to work, shopping, school and daycare. Additionally, there is a ban on alcohol in public spaces, a requirement for extensive masks in public spaces, and the general restriction of gatherings to a maximum of 200 participants.

In Saxony, according to the Ministry of Social Affairs, all districts and urban districts except the districts of Leipzig, Meißen and the city of Leipzig were above the incidence value of 200 on Friday. The state government decided on Friday that if this value is exceeded for five days, stricter measures should apply. The chairman of the district assembly and district administrator of Erzgebirgskreis, Frank Vogel, had insisted on uniform regulations because there are many workers and people who commute to work across the district boundaries.
