To further loosen measures to contain the crown pandemic? Does the Bundesliga start again despite the virus over the weekend? No, it is the answer of most Germans to both questions in the Germany Trend.
More than half of Germans (56 percent) are in favor of maintaining current restrictions to contain the crown pandemic. This means that every second person entitled to vote is critical to further relaxation. That resulted in Germany trend for ARD Morning magazine. Forty percent of respondents, on the other hand, would like it to ease even further. Especially supporters of the FDP (63 percent) and AfD (61 percent) are in favor of a new opening.
Within a week, opinion nearly reversed: Immediately before the political deal to ease the restrictions, 54 percent of Germans had chosen to withdraw the measures, 41 percent opposed.
Every second against the continuation of the Bundesliga season
Furthermore, the majority of Germans consider that the continuation of the Bundesliga is wrong since Saturday. Every second surveyed (56 percent) criticized the resumption of games. About one in three (31 percent) advocates for the season’s planned resumption with so-called ghost games without an audience.
Even among those who want to see the crown’s measures relax further, there is no clear vote to resume the games: 40 percent of respondents are in favor, 45 percent are skeptical.
Sunday question: AfD and FDP profit
If it were a federal election on Sunday, the Union would get 38 percent of the vote. The Greens would be the second strongest force at 18 percent. 15 percent would opt for the SPD, ten percent for the AfD. The left-wing party would get seven percent of the vote, the FDP six percent. Overall, the Union and SPD government coalition would get 53 percent of the vote. Compared to Germany Trend On May 7, 2020, the Union, the SPD, and the Left Party lost one percentage point. AfD and FDP each earn one percentage point. The proportion of votes for the Greens remains unchanged.
