The Fuckingers are fed up: their village will change its name in 2021. The place with about 100 inhabitants is called since January 1 fugging.
One of the reasons for the decision: because the name was identical to an obscene term in English, the signs with the names of the places were repeatedly stolen there.
Before the name change, there are still some administrative steps, said the mayor of the mother community Tarsdorf, Andrea Holzner, the station “OE24” on Thursday. The Tarsdorf municipal council decision from mid-November was published at the official municipality board in the Braunau am Inn district earlier in the week.
Frequent theft of place name signs
According to media reports, there have been frequent considerations on the part of the long-suffering Fuckinger to change his place name in recent years. The town appears on international lists of funny place names, place signs were stolen over and over againOn the other hand, some neighbors used the attention last fall for symbolic purposes and created puns with posters with particularly drastic demands around the place-name sign.
