“From a financial point of view, it is silly to stop”

After 15 episodes and seven years it’s over: with her departure in Berlin’s “Tatort”, actress Meret Becker says goodbye to a secure source of money. “I know, from a financial point of view, it is really stupid to resign, but that is not a priority for me. I am more of a nomad who moves from time to time,” said the Berliner of the daily “Augsburger Allgemeine”.

“There are actors who would stick their legs out for a lead role in ‘Tatort’. I’m not one of them.”

However, she is “deeply grateful” for the role of Commissioner Nina Rubin. “Work is mostly a lot of fun, but filming also blocks you a lot twice a year.” Thanks in part to her efforts, Berlin’s “Tatort” has become one of the most interesting and innovative television commercials; it was not until March that the artistic episode “Meta” received the Grimme Award.

Until 2022, Becker can still be seen alongside colleague Mark Waschke as investigator Robert Karow in the television crime thriller, then she goes out and wants to pursue other artistic endeavors.
