Four major US broadcasters predict Biden’s victory in Arizona. This would mean that a Republican stronghold would become Democratic again after 25 years. Biden could thus expand his majority in the electoral body.

The president-elect of the United States, Joe Biden, also won the state of Arizona, according to forecasts by other television stations. The channels CNN, NBS, CBS and ABC represent a victory for Democrats in the traditionally Republican state. In his projections, Biden had a narrow lead of about 11,000 votes over US President Donald Trump. Arizona has eleven voters to award.

Conservative broadcaster Fox News and the AP news agency had already declared Biden the winner in Arizona on election night.

Biden can’t be caught

It is the first time in almost 25 years that Arizona has chosen a Democrat in a presidential election. In 1996, Bill Clinton won the state.

After Arizona’s victory, Biden would have 290 votes for the electorate that will officially elect the president on December 14. 270 voters are needed to win an election. Biden had already crossed this threshold last weekend after his win in Pennsylvania.

Counting in Georgia

The current Trump has 217 voters. The Republican has so far refused to acknowledge his defeat in the election, claiming, without providing evidence, that there were irregularities in voting and counting.

The race between Biden and Trump in the states of North Carolina and Georgia has yet to be decided. Due to the adjusted result, the Georgian authorities had announced a recount of all votes.
